Kibera is something we will never forget. As we arrived on the outskirts we were dropped off and walked our way about 2- 2 1/2 miles into where the school is. It was really life changing seeing all of the poverty, smelling the smells, seeing the waste, absolutley astonishing.
In the one day we spent in the slums we were able to feed over 400 children bread and water. Now as starving as these children were we saw many carrying their bags off with their water to share with their families. There wer also about 400 people who received medical attention.
Outside we had the Awana games going where families gathered and cheered the children on playing. It was a good day. I watched the faces of the children and their parents - they were joyful for that time as they were able to forget about the weight of their problems. They were not thinking about the sadness the war has brought, they were not thinking about their hunger, they were not thinking about their diseases. For that moment they were just plain having fun.

What an amazing experience. I saw pictures of the awana game on the church's blog... looks like the kids were feeling some of the Joy of the Lord. I cannot imagine all the miraculous things God is showing and teaching you. I can't wait to hear more about it.

You are MIGHTY to SAVE. You are mighty to save every child in every country around this great world you created. May you work mightily through each person that you have drawn to the mission field, to reach the heights of YOUR plans, to believe YOU are all the things they have read in your word and that YOU not only CAN do but WILL do all that YOU have promised. I ask and believe mightily for safety and protection, for provision, for YOU to be their all and all and that everyone that is touched by YOU LORD will be changed FOREVER. In YOUR powerful mighty saving name I pray these things. Bless all who call on the name of JESUS.
